Warm rye porridge

Ingredients
- 120 g rye flakes
- 500 ml water or milk
- 1 pinch salt
- Honey, berries or apple to serve
Method
- Bring the liquid and salt to a gentle boil.
- Stir in the rye flakes, lower the heat and simmer, stirring now and then, until thick and soft, about 12–15 minutes.
- Rest off the heat for two minutes, then serve topped with honey, berries or grated apple.
Good to know
Rye is high in fibre and has a low glycemic index, so it keeps you full longer than quick oats.
